A three—member delegation from the Vietnam Foundation led by its chairman Dr Kien Pham visited WOU on 13-14 January 2011 to explore bilateral and multilateral partnerships with WOU and the Asian Association of Open Universities [AAOU].
Currently WOU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Wong Tat Meng is the President of the AAOU. Prof Wong, Deputy Vice Chancellors Prof Dato’ Dr Ho Sinn Chye [Academic] and Dr Seah Soo Aun [Operations], Honorary Director of WOU‘s Institute for Research and innovation [IRI] Tan Sri Emeritus Prof Dr Gaiara] Dhanarajan and the heads of a few departments attended the briefing sessions.
The Vietnam Foundation presentation provided an opportunity for WOU staff from the Schools, Educational Technology and Publishing Unit, and Learning and Library Services to learn about the activities of the Vietnam Foundation, especially in relation to the Open Textbook initiative and the Enterprise Rhaptos software platform.
