Khan Academy Tieng Viet (KATV) cooperated with the Bureau of Education and Training of Me Linh district to organize a seminar

Khan Academy Tieng Viet (KATV) was honored to cooperate with the Bureau of Education and Training of Me Linh district to organize a seminar on “Sharing international experiences on online teaching and model Open school” on February 6.

The delegates were Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Deputy District Secretary of the Me Linh Party Committee-Chairman of the People’s Committee; Mr. Le Van Khuong, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee; Mr. Nguyen Van Hau, Director of the Me Linh Bureau of Education and Training and other government officers. In addition, principals and teachers in the Me Linh district attended. On the side of VNF, the attendees were Mr. Pham Duc Trung Kien, the President of The Vietnam Foundation (VNF), which is the only official collaborator of Khan Academy in Vietnam, Mr. Kieu Huy Hoa, the Director of the Khan Academy Tieng Viet program, and other VNF members.

The discussion was successful, with the appreciation of the department and schools in the district implementing Khan Academy to improve the quality of teaching and learning. Mr. Sandeep Bapna, Vice President of International Cooperation of Khan Academy, was delighted by the impressive number of Me Linh teachers and students using Khan Academy Tieng Viet.

Khan Academy’s representative shares international experiences with the Me Linh Bureau of Education and Training

On October 29, 2022, the Me Linh Bureau of Education and Training and KATV held a signing ceremony for the “Spreading Khan Academy Open Educational Resources” cooperation agreement. The aim is to promote Khan Academy’s high-quality open learning resources with schools, teachers, parents, and students in the district.

During the signing ceremony, the Me Linh Bureau of Education and Training coordinated with KATV to train primary school instructors. In addition, the team requested primary schools to introduce and inform all staff, teachers, students, and parents of the program’s content, structure, and advantages.

The number of primary school students and their learning time on the Khan Academy Tieng Viet platform is increasing, said Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung, Vice Director of the Me Linh Bureau of Education and Training. During the process, KATV regularly confers with the Bureau of Education and Training through Zalo, a social networking site. After three months of implementation, the program received high appreciation from teachers and students for improving the quality of learning. The number of students and their time spent on the platform is increasing, such as Quang Minh B Primary School, with 114630 learning minutes and 1319 students, which means an average of 86 learning minutes per student. The district will continue to promote the program to secondary schools after the 9th-grade program is published.

The seminar went successfully. With active cooperation, Me Linh district is becoming the leading unit in promoting Khan Academy Tieng Viet to Vietnamese learners.
